In our commitment to the LGBTQueer+, People of Color, and all identities, we engage in regular, ongoing training and consultation. We are active agents of change and advocacy, continuously evolving to meet the needs of our diverse community.
Diverse Collective of Change Makers
The Radical Healing Campus was founded in 2016 by David Young Oh, a queer and trans healing practitioner, who was inspired by the radical community care she received from community members, especially Black and Brown trans women and the queer people of New Orleans, Louisiana. The relationships of collective community care, love and the long history of queer, trans and BIPOC liberators of the American South has inspired the birth of this culturally responsive healing home for all people, especially BIPOC, queer and trans folx.
The campus started with 4 queer, trans and nonbinary healing practitioners (David Young Oh, Tavi Hawn, Eli Ogburn, Sarryn Shapero) offering a wide spectrum of healing modalities. Each practitioner shared a common building and operated their own independent practice under a unified vision and mission of radical inclusion.
In 2019, Dr. Della V. Mosley and David Young Oh co-founded a mental health clinic called the Radical Healing Collaborative to meet the great need for more free, accessible and culturally responsive therapy while offering emerging mental health practitioners opportunities to train using an anti-oppression and social justice lens. Dr. Marvice D. Marcus later joined the community as the Director of Training and Internships and has since greatly expanded the breadth and service provision for our community and is a critical member of the Core Organizing Team.
In 2023, the Radical Healing Collaborative added a psychiatric medication management program that includes free and sliding scale medication management support – a first known of its kind in NC – and in 2024, primary care and expanded gender affirming care as added to campus offerings. In 2025, Radical Healing plans to add a psychedelic medicine program.
Radical Healing is a tribute and love letter to the collective care and wisdom of BIPOC, queer and trans folx.
Our Impact
As of 2024, we have expanded to provide over 7500 hours of free and more accessible therapy each year, and we host a clinical training fellowship program for up to 10 graduate students.
The campus continues to house a vibrant collective of over 80+ healers and change makers. We are queer, trans, cis, anti-racist healers, makers, bodyworkers, counselors, nurses, artists, social workers, physicians, musicians, energy workers, physician assistants, psychologists, activists, caregivers, justice seekers, peacemakers, movement guides, yogis, workers, dream weavers, trouble makers, and scholars.

Believing in the inherent worth and dignity of each person, we offer sliding scale and free services based on an economic justice model.
We actively challenge white supremacy, capitalism, ableism, and all forms of oppression to make our programs and services more accessible and affordable, especially for poor, working-class people, and people of color.
