Hello, and welcome! I’m Britt Coker (they/them and she/her) and I’m a systemic psychotherapist, meaning that I believe to truly understand anyone’s story, you must also understand the “systems” that have shaped them (culture, family dynamics, and community). My therapeutic approach is informed by my experiences working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as my participation in research labs studying anxiety and attachment traumas.
I care deeply about empowering my clients to live healthier, happier lives fueled by a connection to their most authentic selves. Our sessions will focus on providing you the tools to cultivate a deeper relationship with yourself, conquer anxiety, identify destructive patterns in your life, and strengthen your relationships with others.
In my work, I utilize the following evidence-based treatment approaches: Transformational Systemic Therapy, CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Gottman, Emotionally Focused therapy, and Trauma-Informed modalities (EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Narrative therapy).
I approach therapy with a sense of structure and direction so that you don’t ever feel like our time together is “just talking.” Your needs and challenges are unique to you alone, therefore we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and implement a tailored treatment approach that you feel is a perfect fit for you! I prioritize providing a warm and inclusive setting where you will feel truly seen and heard on this journey. I believe that the most powerful healing often comes through the co-creation of safe relationships with others. Together, we will work to safely access your most authentic self, explore your needs, discover your strengths, and determine a plan of action for achieving your goals.
I look forward to meeting you!
