I am currently a graduate student at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a Master of Social Work, and I earned my undergraduate degree in Recreational Therapy from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have experience working with children, adolescents, families, and emerging adults navigating a multitude of life experiences. I particularly value working with queer (LGBTQIA+) identifying people, and understand the importance of intersectionality with queer identity, prioritizing your lived experience throughout our work.
My approach to therapy centers around a strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed lens. I ground my work in a liberation-focused and justice-based framework, deeply informed by the integral work of Queer Theory and Critical Race Theory. Through our time, we will co-create a liberating space where you feel safe to explore difficulties, both personal and systemic, engage authentically and foster growth. I will work alongside you to create goals that feel important and engage in therapeutic work that is meaningful to you.
In my personal life, I enjoy queer line dancing, growing delicious food in my garden, and taking my sweet old cat on hikes. I have lived near the Eno River most of my life, and I love to look for interesting bugs under rocks or swim in the cool waters.
