More About Jay Schnaak

I’m a non-binary, neurodivergent trans person from the Southeast. I’m passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ adults by honoring their self-determination and uniqueness. I have a relational, warm and intuitive style and I aim to co-create an atmosphere of non-judgment, trust and curiosity for self-exploration and processing life experiences. I believe we all benefit from learning to co-create safe and accepting containers to practice our liberation together.

I work best with clients who want a richer relationship with their body and spirit, who want to hone their intuition, build self-reflective practices, and deepen self-intimacy. I collaborate with clients to address root causes of undesirable behaviors, perspectives and/or relational patterns, such as adverse childhood experiences, relational trauma and harmful social conditioning. I enjoy supporting clients in connecting to authenticity, integrity and self-acceptance and by practicing living in alignment with their values, passions and innate talents.

My relational approach incorporates elements of mindfulness practices, Internal Family Systems, depth and transpersonal psychology, intuitive movement, and creative self-expression while building balance, self-trust and wisdom in areas of stress management and self/community care. I am fluent in esoteric languages of astrology, human design and numerology and use these wisdom traditions as tools for self-discovery and acceptance, and I enjoy supporting clients through spiritual emergence and transformation.

I use innovative, personalized, and collaborative processes to chart out a unique path for you to gain self-knowledge, deepen self-trust, and develop the wellness practices and quality of life you desire. By engaging in therapy, you are choosing to pursue a more authentic connection to yourself, to others, and to a more fulfilling life.

Outside of sessions, I enjoy trail running, functional fitness routines, camping adventures, discovering new music, and dancing at raves and transformational music festivals. I also enjoy studying metaphysical topics including astrology, human design, psychedelic psychotherapy, metabolic psychiatry, and learning new forms of intuitive, therapeutic movement, like flow arts and contact improvisation.
