I am a Durham-based dancer, writer, and the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Radical Healing. I am passionate about social justice through the arts as it relates to accessible, innovative design that embodies RH’s identity in our community. I have published written work with PEN America, presented research on the intricate nature of human identity at professional conferences in NC and NYC, and produced a dance film at the American Dance Festival in 2024 titled “This is Going to End Well,” exploring the raw and powerful themes of loneliness, self-discovery, and the urgent need for community healing in the face of police brutality.
Some additional thoughts at this time:
● My personal and professional experiences center around a passion for public discussions about sexual violence, wrongful incarceration, and the abolition of abusive law enforcement practices. Issues that I believe are challenging, yet essential, to simultaneously hold.
● I am interested in tending to a culture of unified healing as opposed to our Westernized idea of healing in isolation, and I believe that begins in shared spaces.
● I recognize that each individual experiences challenges, aspirations, fluidity, grief, joy, and deep emotions with each breath, just like myself. I cherish the complexities of our shared humanity and strive to acknowledge and value you as a whole person, however you need to show up today.
