More About Olufemi Shittu

Hey there. Welcome.

I am Black queer Nigerian American born and raised in North Carolina. I love it here.
I am committed to cultivating a holistic therapeutic practice that centers Black LGBTQIA
individuals and relationships.

As a community organizer, trainer and facilitator for the past decade, my commitment to building
power alongside the most oppressed communities to create change deeply shapes my
therapeutic practice. I am committed to building a trauma informed practice which involves an
array of culturally competent interventions that can best serve you. I take a client centered
approach that helps the therapeutic process feel collaborative.

Particularly, I am committed to developing these approaches and interventions to better serve:
● Individuals who have experienced childhood trauma,
● Individuals experiencing anxiety, depression and those who struggle with self esteem.
● Life transitions
● Navigating issues within relationships and community
● Those with an interest in learning more about how their relationship to their body shapes
their relationship to their healing.
● Self discovery & identity exploration

Outside of therapy, I enjoy museums, live music, and great dance parties. Home cooked food
and quality time with friends are just a couple of ways I stay grounded. I look forward to being a part of your journey in healing, growth, struggle, and transformation.
