I am a NCSU Master’s of Social Work alum with experience working directly with addiction, and community outreach with LGBTQIA2S+ individuals in both of my Practicums. I believe in creating a nonjudgmental space as well as being critical of systems of oppression and their impacts on day to day life. I also work toward dismantling these systems, and being active,
intentional, and informed when it comes to advocating and fighting for change.
I work primarily in substance use, and recognize that abstinence isn’t for everyone. I take a harm reduction approach and will work with you on your goals when it comes to substance use. I also have experience working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and body image concerns. My primary approach is to assist with identifying ways to bring more meaning into one’s life. Trauma and other significant events can often lead to self medicating with substances or processes as a way of maneuvering through the emotional, physical, and spiritual pain those events create. I offer a collaborative space where we can explore these concerns together and address them as they occur to reduce their impact,
and to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.
I utilize dialectical and existential approaches to support the strengths you already have in being capable of change. Furthermore, I aim to create a space for those with intersecting LGBTQIA2S+ identities as I recognize many treatment options are limited, and often neglectful of these identities in the treatment process. I am also Ace/Aro and have worked with people within the Aspec community, and am an advocate for sex positivity, health, and well being in whatever capacity that takes. As a Non-binary clinician, I recognize the importance of identity development, self-acceptance, and the necessity of community in order to combat the disruption caused by interpersonal, and systemic problems, and aim to work with you to achieve the life
you wish to live.
