I am a nonbinary trans person originally from northern California who has been calling Durham and the Southeast home for the last 5 years. I dedicated 12 years to serving young people in after-school programs, as well as the staff, before transitioning into LGBTQ+ advocacy and policy work after relocating to North Carolina.
As an emerging clinical social worker, I am passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges, pursue healing, and develop healthier relationships with themselves and the people around them. My approach to therapy is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and ensuring I find the intervention(s) that best meets the needs and strengths of my clients. Overall, my hope is that in our work together I create a safe, stable and trusting space where clients feel validated and accepted so that together we can process what may be inaccessible or overwhelming to do alone. I draw from clinical approaches where we take the time to explore the inner world more deeply to better understand our outer world experiences. These approaches include Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems and other approaches that allow us to better understand how our past experiences shape our inner world.
In my free time, you can find me spending time with my two cats, riding my bicycle on the American Tobacco Trail or working on my next quilt project.
